Celebration Continues in Colorado

We left Michigan on Labor Day and headed north and west. After a one night stay in northern Michigan we traveled across the upper peninsula and south along the west coast of Lake Michigan before turning west. We made a return visit to one of our favorites, Custer State Park in South Dakota, before heading to Colorado.

Lunch – Coors Brewery Tour

We arrived in Golden Colorado (Clear Creek RV Park) mid September to meet our family to continue our 50th wedding anniversary celebration. What a wonderful experience to have our family with us in the place we have grown to love. We spent several days showing them our favorite places and reminiscing about how we discovered the area by chance on our honeymoon 50 years ago.

We started off with a private tour of the Coors Brewery (arranged by Dan & Christie). In addition to the usual production areas and beer tasting, we were treated to lunch and joined by Peter Coors (grandson of founder Adolph Coors). He presented us with flowers and congratulated us on our milestone anniversary.

After lunch and some whisky tasking (Coors is now making Whiskey called “Five Trail”) we left with several gifts and a memory of a wonderful experience. A big thank you to Christie who stayed with the little girls during the tour.

Rocky Mountain NP w/Faye & Anna 2019

We visited Look Out Mountain (overlooking the Town of Golden), Red Rocks Amphitheater, and attended a Colorado Rockies baseball game. Lastly we toured Rocky Mountain National park in an open air van; a great way to see the park together without having to be the driver!

We certainly missed our two older granddaughters on this trip (at college); but fortunately, they have visited the area with us in the past.

Colorado holds so many memories for us and this trip just added the best memory we could have wished for.

Oh my gosh! To date, and of all of your travels and adventures, this is my most favorite post ever!

What pure delight to see you and Jim, and all of your kids/grands, and with most having been able to experience some of your beloved Golden, Colorado with you!

Not to be too cheesy, but you truly have it all, and are so, so blessed, and I couldn’t be more happy for you — and your family. Well done!

I’m telling you: ‘World’s Nicest and Best Family’, hands-down and — of course — you and Jim remain my most favorite people ever (my family not included, of course)!❤️

    Be well; be safe.

    All my love, Melissa
