Back Home in Florida to wrap up 2024

They say “better late than never”; so it’s time to get caught up and wrap up 2024!

The middle of October is a good time to return to our Florida home from our western trip. Temperatures are cooling down and this is actually a slower time in this area compared to the summer vacation season.

Jim got busy planning and building a stair/deck platform to improve the RV access and it turned out great. Too big to take on the road, but perfect for our long Florida stays. Easier and safer to carry things in and out.

We have been considering some kind of fire pit for the property, but couldn’t decide exactly what we wanted. So, in the meantime we opted for a Chiminea. Purchased from a local store, it’s movable and puts out some nice heat – it fits the bill for now.

Halloween in NC

At the end of October we flew to North Carolina for a family visit. Got to enjoy Halloween with Ellie and Norah. Their neighborhood really decorates and the girls enjoyed collecting all the Halloween goodies.

We stayed with Ellie and Norah while Darren and Cheryl had a short get-a-way. We kept them busy, or should I say they kept us busy – either way, we had a good time.

Later in November we had a nice stay again at St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. Good time as always camping with friends Susan and Darrell and friends Mark and Sandy joined us for a nice evening.

Thanksgiving in MI
Never too early

We enjoyed Thanksgiving with Dan Christie, Anna and Faye in Michigan. A little snow put us in the mood for some early Christmas baking.

To wrap up the remainder of the year, we celebrated Christmas in Florida with friends and then flew to Maryland for New Years.

Got to spend time with Kevin, Beth and Gemma; Cheryl and family also joined us for a few days. Our New Year’s Eve family party was fun, complete with decorations and noise makers.

Welcome 2025! Time to get ready for another tax season and a February trip to Hawaii!
